The first line of this song (which inspired the rest of the lyrics) is borrowed from an Emergent Strategy podcast in which Daria Garina of Accountability Mapping is interviewed about strategies for community accountability and healing in the wake of harm. When he spoke the potent words, "Shame is a boat we float in alone" I felt inspired write them into a song about my own experience with shame, isolation, healing, and transformation. This is that song. Thank you, Daria, for your work and words, for helping to weave the vessel of support that has enabled me to navigate these UNCERTAIN SEAS.
